Join the Dragon network
A fact sheet for licensed California Private Patrol Operators. Dragon Bodyguards is an app where clients book licensed, unarmed protection by the hour: events, executives and VIPs, private residences, hospitality. We are building a non-exclusive network of licensed PPOs to staff those bookings, starting in San Diego County.
What Dragon brings you
- Bookings you did not have to sell. Clients book and pay in the app. You get an offer with the location, hours, dress and brief, and accept or decline in one tap. No bidding.
- The app for every detail. GPS check-in and check-out, a live status the client sees, a job timeline, and incident reports built around the BSIS reporting fields.
- A recruiting pipeline. Dragon recruits guards and verifies their BSIS registration on the state license site. Applicants without a guard card can earn its cost back as a bonus. You hire the ones you want, as your employees.
- License checks. Every guard card is verified on the state BSIS license site before a Dragon is approved, and every partner license is verified before a firm joins.
What you do (what you already do)
- Employ the guard: your W-2 payroll and workers' comp, as California law requires.
- Insure the detail with your general liability coverage, naming Dragon as additional insured.
- Supervise through your qualified manager, and own your BSIS reporting.
- Staff what you accept, or decline it. A decline or no answer in 10 minutes passes the booking to the next partner in the area. No penalty.
The money
Dragon's standard rate is $95 per guard-hour; close protection is priced higher. You keep 80% (85% during the pilot), paid weekly for completed details.
For comparison, San Diego unarmed guard postings pay roughly $18 to $22/hr in wages before payroll costs and insurance.
One-person companies welcome
If you hold your own PPO license, even as a one-guard company with yourself as qualified manager, you are a partner like any other firm: same split, same terms.
Pilot terms
- 90 days at a 15% Dragon fee. Either side can leave on 14 days' notice; accepted details are completed.
- Non-exclusive both ways. Each county opens to clients once it has at least two partners.
- Non-circumvention: no taking a Dragon client off-platform for 12 months after their first Dragon booking. Clients you already had stay yours.
- 15-minute onboarding: license number (verified on the state site), a certificate of insurance, your scheduling contact's phone and email, and the counties you cover.
